Elles, C.B., against the Hussanzais and Akazais in the Black Mountains, 1891, and with the Isaazi Expedition, 1892; served with the Chitral Relief Force under Lieutenant-General Sir Robert Low, G.C.B., April to August 1895; Major, February 1896; served with the Malakand Field Force in the operations on the Punjab Frontier under Major-General Sir Bindon Blood, K.C.B., June 1897 to April 1898; Lieutenant-Colonel, 12.2.1902; Commandant, 11th Bengal Lancers, 25.6.1902; Colonel, 20.4.1905; retired 24.6.1909.
