Folio, pp. xvii, (i), 371, (1); vii, (i), titles printed in red and black; 1333 extremely detailed descriptions of medals, text figures; 201 superbly printed plates of medals. Additional Corrigenda slip tipped in. Original matching tan cloth; title in gilt on backs and on upper covers, slight staining on some pages of text volume, corners a little bumped, contents generally exceptionally clean and fresh; an excellent copy of Hill´s great work. (2) Estimate £ 950-1,150 Clain Stefanelli 14287* / Grierson page 256. The classic and still the most important work on the subject, covering the (then) known varieties of medals produced by Italian artists from 1390 to about 1530.
