Bulgaria, Principality, Order of St. Alexander, 1st type, a Fine Grand Officer´s Star of Russian Manufacture, 79mm, silver (84 zolotniki), silver-gilt, and enamel, 1865-1896 St. Petersburg assay office mark and maker´s mark N.O. on reverse, about extremely fine Estimate £ 500-800 The unattributed Maker´´s mark, N.O., has been seen on a very fine First Class badge of the Order of St. Stanislaus, enamelled on both sides, that carries the same St. Petersburg assay office mark as this piece (Andreas Thies refers); on a First Class Star of the Order of St. Anne (Sotheby´´s Geneva, 1991 refers); and on a badge of the Order of the White Eagle (Spink, 1988 refers); as well as on the Bulgarian Order of St. Alexander.
