L.I.), extremely fine, with Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque,´ William Deans Campbell´, Cap Badge, (3) original enclosure slips for the respective medals addressed to ´Mr. John Campbell, 184 Easterhill Street, Tollcross, Glasgow´, and photographic image of recipient (lot) Estimate £ 160-200 2826 Private William Deans Campbell, born Glasgow; served during the Great War with the 9th (Glasgow Highlanders) Battalion Highland Light Infantry on the Western Front from 5.11.1914; he died of wounds 24.3.1915; during March 1915 the battalion moved into the Cuinchy sector at Annequin and acted in a supporting role for the opening attacks of the battle of Neuve Chapelle; Campbell is buried in Bethune Town Cemetery
