R.A.), good very fine (3) Estimate £ 140-160 23118 Gunner William John Croucher, enlisted Royal Horse Artillery 18.3.1902, and served with "Q" Battery, 3.5.1902-9.12.1904, and then "E" Battery, 9.12.1904-18.3.1909 before transferring to the Army Reserve; he was mobilised for service at the outbreak of the Great War and served in "D" Company 3rd Brigade Royal Horse Artillery on the Western Front from 15.8.1914; he was wounded 22.12.1917, and sent home for recuperation before being posted for service to "R" Battery.
