A Great War Group of Three to Private J. Young, King´s Own Scottish Borderers, Killed in Action, 13.10.1914 1914 Star, with Bar (6694 Pte. J. Young. K.O. Sco: Bord.); British War and Victory Medals (6694 Pte. J. Young. K.O.Sco.Bord.), good very fine or better, with Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque, ´John Young´ Estimate £ 240-280 6694 Private John Young, born Edinburgh; served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion King´´s Own Scottish Borderers on the Western Front from 15.8.1914; he was killed in action 13.10.1914; as part of the 13th Infantry Brigade the 2nd Battalion were in action throughout Mons and Le Cateau, and moved into front line positions on the 12th October, taking part in the attack on Cuinchy on the 13th October 1914; the 2nd Battalion lost 22 men killed during the attack; Young is buried in Browns Road Military Cemetery, Festubert.
