Churchill.), minor edge bruise to last, generally good very fine (6) Estimate £ 320-360 Lieutenant-Colonel George Forbes Churchill, MRCS, LRCP (1877-1962), born Birmingham; commissioned Lieutenant Royal Army Medical Corps, 31.1.1905; served in India, 1906-12; Captain 31.7.1908; served during the Great War as a Specialist in Advanced Operative Surgery with the Corps on the Western Front, 21.8.1914-29.4.1915; Major 15.10.1915; served in the Gallipoli Theatre of War, November 1915-December 1915, the Egyptian Theatre of War, January 1916-18.3.1916 and 12.8.1918-31.10.1918; postings during this period including with OIC Surgery Division 18 Staty Hospital, 65 General Hospital and 38 General Hospital; after the War his postings included as Officer Commanding Russian Hospital, Tel-El-Kebir; Malaya 1925-28 and India 1930-32; Lieutenant-Colonel 18.9.1928; after retirement Churchill re-engaged for service during the Second World War as Officer Commanding CRS and RMO, 1939-46. Approximately 204 Coronation 1902 medals in bronze issued to the Police Ambulance Service.
