WGreat Britain Postal History Historical Documents 1840 (8 Oct.) letter from Henry Cole to Sir George Larpent Bart suggesting a postponement of Rowland Hill´s testimonial, "... one reason weighing with me is that his plan is only partially in operation ... though the numbers of letter & the amount of Revenue are advancing, sufficient time has not passed to enable them to reach ... a very successful issue". This is a copy of the letter, in Cole´s hand to Rowland Hill and is endorsed on the reverse in pencil in Hill´s hand. Photo Estimate £ 3,000-4,000
