Fonteius Capito, who was Praetor in Sardinia in 169 B.C. The second alludes to the moneyer´´s ancester, P. Porcius Laeca, Praetor in 195 BC, who was instrumental in proposing and implementing the Lex Porcia de Provocatione. The third recalls that the Cornelia gens claimed descent from Scipio Africanus, whose statue was placed in the temple of Jupiter on the Capitol alongside those of the divinities depicted on the reverse.
