Cal. Hy. Arty., U.S. Volunteer" and with handstamp "u.s. consulate/(h)ongkong" in violet, the reverse with San Francisco and Sacramento c.d.s. Also 1898 (23 July) envelope to Colorado bearing Hong Kong 10c. purple on red tied by Hong Kong c.d.s. and marked "Soldiers Letter, ... Volunteer Military Station No.1, Philippine Island" with San Francisco and arrival c.d.s. on reverse; a little roughly opened at right. Rare and important covers from this campaign.
