Foreign Post Offices British Post Office — 1898 (1 June) double-rate envelope to London bearing C.I.P. 10c. dark green (2) tied by pa-kua with Tientsin Dollar chop alongside, with Hong Kong 10c. purple on red (2) tied by Shanghai (4.6) c.d.s., the reverse with Shanghai Dollar chop, Hong Kong (10.6) and arrival c.d.s.; some light creasing. Also 1898 (6 July) a single-rate envelope from the same correspondence bearing C.I.P. 10c. dark green tied by pa-kua with c.d.s. (Customs removed) alongside with Hong Kong 2c. carmine (5) tied by Shanghai (11.7) c.d.s. with similar transits on reverse; fine and an attractive pair of covers. Photo
