China Chinese Imperial Post Instructional Marks An interesting group with 1898 envelope from Shanghai to Peking, marked "Deceased" and a fine strike of bilingual "returned/to writer"; 1901 picture post card from Shanghai to Germany with C.I.P. 1c. (4) tied by pa-kua (a very late date) with France Chine 10c. and a good strike of straight-line "from steamer letter box"; 1910 1c. stationery card from Tientsin to Germany bearing a superb strike of boxed handstamp in red (used during a shortage of 2c., 3c. and 7c. stamps; 1910 Hong Kong 1c. stationery card from Kwangchow to Canton bearing straight-line "Chin. Imp. P.O." in purple; also six-character instructional mark on reverse of envelope from Chungking to London "via Siberia". Major Richard Pratt collection. (5 covers)
