China 1897 New Currency Surcharges Small Figures 2c. on 2ca. green variety surcharge inverted cancelled by Shanghai Dollar chop in blue and dated 1897 (20 Sep. showing the reversed "S") and part sheet margin at foot; the surcharge is from the left pane [3]; light even toning and an indistinct horizontal crease, nevertheless a very desirable example of this error as many of the examples were damaged when they were removed from their envelopes and possibly unique exhibiting the lower sheet margin. Very few are cancelled in blue, this has the clearest dated cancellation
