Municipal Posts Shanghai Mail Through Foreign Post Offices united states: 1876 (3 Oct.) opened-out (and reinforced) envelope to Ohio bearing 1873 6c. brownish rose cancelled by a good strike of the Shanghai cork obliterator and with a good strike of Shanghai type IIb Agency c.d.s. with San Francisco transit alongside, the reverse with Local Post code "E" c.d.s. in blue. THis cover overpays the new U.P.U. rate of 5c. which was introduced in November 1875, however, this was not uncommon at this time. Photo Estimate HK$ 2,500-3,000 provenance: Edward S.
