Hong Kong Treaty Ports Swatow 1885 (13 Aug.) large on her majesty´s service envelope registered to Hong Kong bearing 5c. blue and 10c. blue-green (3, one defective corner) tied by fine strikes of the scarce, thin-type "S2" in black (Webb type Aii) of the sub post office and showing the characteristic type C despatch c.d.s. with a superb strike of large "R" in circle; some creasing does not detract from this highly important cover, very few are recorded from the sub office and this is probably the only surviving registered cover. This is the latest recorded date of use of the c.d.s. on cover (Webb) and the earliest use of the registration handstamp (Proud). Magnificent. Neil Christensen collection.
