Hong Kong Treaty Ports Canton 1878 (9 Jan.) envelope to Edinburgh "Per French Mail" bearing 12c. light blue just tied by "B62" in black with Hong Kong (10.1) c.d.s. alongside, the reverse with a faint but readable strike of double-ring "customs/canton" c.d.s. and Edinburgh arrival; fine. The Canton Customs c.d.s. is rare on mail through Hong Kong, this is an early date as this mark is first recorded in May 1877. Photo Estimate HK$ 5,000-6,000
