x New Caledonia Postage Dues 1875 (18 June) stampless large part outer letter sheet to Paris with "nlle. calédonie/nouméa" c.d.s. of despatch in black; circular "col. fr./angl. par calais" (22.8); charged on arrival with "8" decimes handstruck marking in error. The "8" handstamp being replaced by a "12" decime marking with Paris "CP1" lozenge deleting the erroneous charge. Stamp possibly removed but a most unusual piece Estimate £ 120-150
