x New Caledonia 1941-42 Air Mail 1f.20c.+ 1f.80 die proof without the name of the Colony, 1f.+2f.50 deep green die proof and 50c.+ 1f.50 in red on blue die proof (both optd. "Oeuvres Coloniales" in black and red respectively), together with further 10 stamps never issued in New Caledonia. A scarce group The above were all prepared for use in New Caledonia and were never issued due to the insurrection of 19 September 1940 which led to New Caledonia forcing the Vichy Governor to leave the Islands.
