Great Britain Other Illustrated Envelopes The following thirty-four lots comprise a beautiful collection of hand illustrated envelopes from a gentleman artist, R.O. Jackson, who sent these well executed miniature works of art to two ladies - while it is impossible to determine the relationship between them, it seems likely that these were the work of a devoted uncle. 1901 (29 Aug.) beautiful pen and ink scene of a young woman in party dress, aided by a cherub, opening a large book entitled "Pickled Walnut" which contains the address details "Miss Mason, Board School... Leeds", bearing 1881 1d. lilac tied by Bramley duplex; the envelope with strengthened tear at right though in absolutely no way detracting. Signed "R.O. Jackson" at foot. A very well executed and most appealing cover. Photo
