France 1849-52 First Issue 40c. orange, two horizontal pairs on 1853 (1 Feb.) outer letter sheet to London, with large margins all round and tied by Cognac "898" petits chiffres with the despatch c.d.s. alongside; vertical filing fold affects the first stamp and light oxidation of colour, but a splendid and rare franking.
