x Tobago 1797 (18 Jan.) soldier´s entire letter from "Scarborough Island" to Dumfries and redirected to Edinburgh, countersigned on reverse, "A Soldier Letter M Hunter Lt. Col. Comg. 60th. Regt" and showing, on face, manuscript "Paid 1d", London "paid/1797" double-ring d.s. in red and circular-framed "dum/fries"; complete with transcript of the contents which includes "I am sorry that you have not recd. my other two letters wrote from St. Vincent as I told all the skirmishes and battles that I went through during the time I was there...".
