Sudan The Dongola Expedition 1896 1896 (July) envelope ex the "Sloggett" correspondence to Tunbridge Wells, marked "Active Service, No stamps obtainable", showing weak "wadi-halfa camp" c.d.s. and "2 1/2d/f.b./b." h.s.; 1896 (8 Nov.) envelope to London, marked "Active Service", showing fair Wadi Halfa Camp c.d.s., boxed "T" and "2 1/2d/f.b." h.s.; and 1896 (19 Nov.) envelope (stained) to Malta, marked "Dongola, No stamp", showing Wadi Halfa Camp c.d.s., boxed "T" with manuscript "2 1/2" alongside and, on reverse, Cairo, Alexandria Malta and Sliema B.O. datestamps; a few faults though an interesting trio from the Dongola Expedition Estimate £ 100-120
