New Zealand 1859 (26 Oct.) envelope from Auckland to Capt. Harkness of the 5th. Fusiliers at Government House, Mauritius, rated "6" and showing "paid/auckland new zealand" c.d.s. in red on face, apparently carried on the "Prince Albert" and P&O "Benares" and showing "g.p.o./mauritius" double-ring d.s. (8.12) on reverse; some minor creasing though very rare, this and the following items being the only two covers to Mauritius recorded by the owner in the pre-stamp or Chalon era.
