Hiberno-Norse, Phase V, c.1065-1095, Penny, 1.00g, group G/b, degraded facing crowned bust with large annulets at sides, most likely derived from the Two Stars type of William I (but equally possibly also from Henry I Annulets type- BMC1), rev. voided long cross with e´s and trefoils of pellets in alternate angles (see SCBI Ulster 344-5; SCBI British Museum, 209-10 and Roth 169-170 for obverse; S.6173), chipped in two places at seven and ten o´clock, severely cracked, otherwise good fine and exceedingly rare, the reverse unrecorded Estimate £ 300-400 provenance Spink auction 23, 21 September 1982, lot 120
