The Recommendation, dated 15.12.1918, states: ´Devotion to duty and consistent good work. G.R. 5990 Chief Master Mechanic George Robert Guinea, M.S.M. born South Shields, Durham, April 1891; enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps, 1.6.1915; served throughout the Great War in Egypt as part of 32 Training Wing, 7.11.1915-5.2.1919; Corporal, 1.6.1916; Sergeant, 1.12.1916; transferred to the Royal Air Force with the rank of Chief Mechanic, 1.4.1918; Chief Master Mechanic, 2.4.1918; Awarded M.S.M. whilst attached to No. 20 Training Depot Station; transferred to the R.A.F. Reserve, 9.4.1920; re-called 10.4-5.6.1921; discharged 31.5.1923 after 8 years´ service.
