Star, 70mm, silver, gold, and enamel, with gold retaining pin, minor enamel damage to ermine on crowns, otherwise extremely fine, in R. & S. Garrard and Co., Goldsmiths, Jewellers &c. to the Queen, His Royal Highness Prince Albert, & All the Royal Family, Panton Street, London case of issue Estimate £ 700-800 The Star dates from the period 1843-57, coinciding with the appointment of R. & S. Garrard and Co. as Crown Jewellers to Her Majesty Queen Victoria in 1843, and the granting to H.R.H. Prince Albert the title of H.R.H. the Prince Consort, 25.6.1857.
