Bermuda 1901 One Farthing on One Shilling Provisional Essays Due to the death of Queen Victoria in January 1901, neither of the following two designs were adopted. The surcharge on 1/- grey was eventually issued 1/4d. composite type in grey, comprising small circular keyplate head, as used for the first issue of Cayman Islands, with the new frame superimposed and touched up in manuscript, the whole mounted on card (90x114mm.; trivial fox spotting) marked "B" and dated "Dec 10th 1900".
