The International Bank, colour proof £20, 1 January 1878, black and white with value in pale pink panel at centre, Britannia top centre with allegorical figures of Empire around, value top left and right, the International Bank of Hamburg was founded in 1872 and was subsequently taken over by the International bank which was in turn liquidated in 1905. It is not known whether the Bank was intending to issue in the United Kingdom but the vignette suggests in the colonies, a lovely Skipper and East engraving, extremely rare and interesting Estimate £ 1,500-1,800
