Also a Comparative View of the Portugal Bank-Notes, or Paper-Money; and of Coins of these two Kingdoms. Original manuscript in black ink. No place, no date. [Circa 1811-1816.] Small quarto (19x16cm). 29 leaves numbered in pencil. 10 pages of manuscript text, folding table and 18 most attractive and finely drawn plates of Portuguese coins. Delightfully bound in contemporary crimson full morocco, sides decoratively panelled in gilt. PORTUGALLIAE NUMISMATA stamped in gilt on upper cover, 4 raised bands, spine decorated in gilt; decorative orange endpapers, board edges hatched in gilt at corners; inner dentelles intricately gilt; each leaf of the contents hinged. A very fine binding and a quite superb example of a 19th century numismatic manuscript
