The Foundation Ceremony of the New Royal Exchange, 1842, specimen striking in bronze, diademed head of Victoria left, w wyon r.a. on truncation, rev. legend in ten lines, 45mm. (BHM.2078), extremely fine Estimate £ 60-80 On 28 January 1842 Wyon´s bill for these medals was approved by the Gresham sub-committee of the Royal Exchange. He charged ten guineas for gold medals, one guinea for silver, and five shillings for medals in bronze. A total of two gold, 24 silver and 131 bronze medals were struck.
