(1892-1956), born Windermere; served in Lancashire Borough Police, 11.5.1920-21.6.1923; transferred Lancashire Constabulary later that year and served with them until his retirement, 1.9.1952, having attained the rank of Chief Superintendent, 1.6.1950 (noted as being entitled to a Police Long Service Medal).
