Foot.), very fine, with original steel clip, and split ring suspension Estimate £ 1,100-1,400 Sergeant William Baker, born Devon; served in the Royal Cornwall Militia, 1797-99; joined 40th Foot, 1799; served in Holland and the Peninsula (entitled to M.G.S. with ´Vittoria´ clasp); wounded at Pamplona, July 1813; served in Captain J. Lowry´s Company during the Waterloo Campaign; discharged 1817. Provenance: Clarke sale, 1912.
