Three: Private J.S. Gray, Kaffrarian Rifles 1914-15 Star (Pte. J.S. Gray 5th Infantry); British War Medal (Pte. J.S. Gray. Railway Rgt.); Victory Medal, bi-lingual version (Pte. J.S. Gray. 5th Infantry.), nearly very fine, and rare for the BWM to be named to this unit, together with one of the recipient´s ´Kaffrarian Rifles´ shoulder titles, and his cap badge, reverse of this damaged (3) Estimate £ 60-80 Private J.S. Gray served with the 5th Infantry (Kaffrarian Rifles) in the German South West Africa campaign 1914-15. 36 Officers and 1258 men served with the Railway Regiment, although the vast majority of their medals were issued from, and named to, the unit of origin. Only 39 men had medals named to the Railway Regiment.
