Heale, Royal Field Artillery, Late Royal Horse Artillery, Who Later Died of Wounds a) Military Cross, G.V.R., reverse engraved ´Arthur George Heale. 23rd. March 1918´ b) 1914 Star (63413 Gnr: A.G. Heale, R.H.A.) c) British War and Victory Medals (Lieut. A.G. Heale.), good very fine, with enclosure slip for 1914 Star, addressed to ´Mrs. A.G. Heale, 1 Carlisle Street, Hinckley Road, Leicester´, dated 13.10.1919 (4) Estimate £ 700-800 M.C. London Gazette 18.3.1918 Lieutenant George Arthur Heale, R.F.A. ´For conspicuous galllantry and devotion to duty. When a gunpit of a neighbouring battery was set on fire by enemy shelling, he led a party under very heavy fire to put it out. By his coolness and courage he succeeded in extinguishing the fire at great risk from enemy shelling and exploding ammunition.´ Lieutenant Arthur George Heale, M.C., served during the Great War with 41st Battery 42nd Brigade Royal Field Artillery on the Western Front; where he died of wounds, 23.4.1918, and is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, France.
