Naval General Service 1793-1840, two clasps, Navarino, Syria (John Constable.), edge bruise, therefore very fine Estimate £ 900-1,100 John Constable served as Able Seaman in H.M.S. Albion for the ´Navarino´ clasp and as the same rate in H.M.S. Edinburgh for the ´Syria´ clasp. Provenance: Sotheby, February 1921 Glendining, March 1980.
