Lan: R.), good very fine Estimate £ 650-700 D.C.M. London Gazette 5.12.1918 240227 A/Cpl. W. Swarbrick 1/5th Bn. E. Lan. R. (T.F.) (Padiham) ´In company with another N.C.O. and four men he made a determined attack at night on an enemy party, consisting of an officer and forty-two other ranks, killing the officer, wounding two of the men and taking the remainder prisoners. His courage and resource were most conspicuous.´
