STRAITS SETTLEMENTS Indian Stamps used in the Straits Settlements 1854 Lithograph Issue Singapore 1855 (17 Sept.) entire to Mauritius, marked "Via Galle", bearing 1/2a. blue pairs (2) and singles (2), 1a. red and 4a. blue and red (the 1/2a. and 1a. with margins in places and the 4a. cut square), the singles affixed overlapping, all cancelled by diamond of dots, showing red crayon "1/-", double-lined oval "packet letter/mauritius" arrival d.s. and, on reverse across join, "singapore/p.o." c.d.s. in red. A remarkable three value franking and the only 1854 issue cover we record going to Mauritius. Photo Estimate S$ 30,000-40,000
