Angelo (Arm.II, 217, 17 reverse; Bargello II, 579a), excellent contemporary striking on a thick flan, rich brown patina Estimate £ 200-250 Although unsigned the style is close to G.F.Bonzagni. The medal was struck for the restoration of the castle in 1561, and examples were places in the foundations. The detail is remarkable, showing inside the ramparts figures, a horse and a canon.
