Charles I, third coinage 1637-1642, Falconer´s second issue, Twelve Shillings, 5.98g., m.m. thistle, bust left slightly breaking inner circle, xii behind, no f on obverse, rev. crowned square topped shield, a crowned c and r to left and right, inverted f above left of crown, pellet above right, thistle before legend, qvae devs etc. (St.4b, S.5562), striations on obverse, irregular flan, frosting from rusty dies affecting fields and relief in places, good very fine, a rare variety Estimate £ 280-320 provenance P Finn, 1998, list 13, no. 388
