x British Columbia and Vancouver Island Express Company Mail Barnard´s Express 1864 (8 Mar.) envelope from Uniontown, Pa. to Nicomin, B.C., bearing U.S. 1861-66 10c. green strip of three each cancelled with oval of bars in combination with 1860 2 1/2d. rose and Cariboo Express "collect" label Type 3c-A in green preceded by manuscript "75" (cents), showing despatch c.d.s. and manuscript "Retd from B.C." in blue crayon, British Columbia c.d.s. (25.4) on reverse. Philatelic Foundation Certificate (1988) states that the British Columbia stamp did not originate on the cover and declining an opinion on the Express label, nevertheless an attractive combination cover.
