x British Columbia and Vancouver Island Postal History United States Frankings 1867 (c.) envelope (part flap missing) from Victoria to San Francisco, bearing U.S. 1861-66 10c. deep green in combination with Vancouver Island 1865 perf. 12 5c. rose, the latter cancelled with oval-framed "post office/Royal Coat of Arms/victoria v.i." h.s. in blue and both sharing San Francisco duplex d.s. for 23 October, also showing "advertised" h.s. and boxed "inform addressee/cannot be found" h.s. in red, the reverse with San Francisco Advertised (6.11) and San Francisco (7.11) c.d.s.. The 10c. added though a rare and attractive usage of the Victoria Post Office handstamp on a Post Office cover rather than Express or Official covers. Greene Foundation Certificate (1989).
