x British Columbia and Vancouver Island Postal History 1862 envelope to Dereham P.O., Canada West, bearing U.S. 1861-62 5c. buff and 10c. green in combination with 1860 2 1/2d. rose, the latter with pen cross cancellation and all tied by cogwheel cancellations applied at San Francisco with c.d.s. for 12 December and Chicago "paid 15" h.s. in red alongside, the reverse with Ingersoll (2.10 and another faint transit c.d.s. on reverse; the envelope with some faults and defects though a rare combination franking.
