x British Columbia and Vancouver Island Postal History 1868 (12 July) yellow "On H.M.S." envelope ex the Mallandaine correspondence to Government St., Victoria showing a good strike of the Victoria c.d.s. at left, and 1870 mourning envelope from Victoria to Oregon, bearing British Columbia 1865 3d. blue cancelled "35" in blue and with Victoria and Portland c.d.s. alongside, the envelope a little truncated at right with the stamp defective. Also 1859 entire letter from San Francisco to Liverpool, carried privately to England and put in the post in Liverpool with G.B. 1d., the writer, Henry Hollbrook, went to British Columbia and became the first Postmaster of New Westminster
