x CANADA Dead Letter Office Officially Sealed Labels 1882 (15 Nov.) O.H.M.S. envelope (215x96mm.) registered from The Department of the Interior at Ottawa to Rapid City, Man. and redirected to Winnipeg, showing "free" h.s. alongside despatch c.d.s., marked "Opened by W. Brown and not for him" and "not called for" h.s., sealed at top with the 1879 yellow-brown label affixed over on to reverse, Rapid City c.d.s. (22.11) at lower left corner with a further strike, arrival (23.11) and Dead Letter Office (15.1.83) c.d.s. on reverse; the envelope with some faults as to be expected with an item of this nature, nevertheless rare.
