x CANADA The Small Queen Issue Six Cents Yellowish Brown Montreal Printings, Perforated 11 1/2x12 Covers 1874 (12 Mar.) envelope from London, Ont. to New Hampshire, U.S.A., bearing 6c. yellowish brown from the first printing on the rejected plate, showing weak entry, "ghostly head", unshaded chignon, plate not cleared of dots and scratches and with the position dot frameline under the left numeral "6", lightly cancelled with bars duplex, no arrival d.s. A very rare stamp on cover. Photo Estimate £ 300-400 Note: This plate was not used after April 1874, when the British American Bank Note Co. reverted to the "Montreal & Ottawa" plate first used in 1872. See J.
