x CANADA The Large Queen Issue Fifteen Cents Purple Ottawa Printings, Perforated 12 Covers 1872 (21 Oct.) envelope from Newcastle, N.B. to England, bearing 15c. pale reddish purple and 15c. dull violet-grey, both on Bothwell paper showing inverted "ll" and part "s", and small part "c" of "e & g bothwell/clutha mills" papermaker´s watermark respectively, both stamps cancelled and tied by oval of bars and showing despatch c.d.s. on face and Dawlish arrival c.d.s. (5.11) on reverse, both stamps lifted and re-hinged to the cover; the envelope with faults in places though a remarkable quintuple rate cover carried by the Canadian Packet Polynesian, and a very rare late use of these watermarked stamps.
