x CANADA The Large Queen Issue Fifteen Cents Purple Ottawa Printings, Perforated 12 Covers 1868 (29 June) envelope (small faults) from Niagara to England, bearing 15c. deep reddish purple on thin, hard. semi-transparent paper lightly cancelled and tied by "23" four-ring target, showing equally light despatch c.d.s. at left and, on reverse, Hamilton (29.6) and Rugby (14.7) arrival c.d.s.; a scarce example of the short-lived and little-used 15c. rate via New York and carried from there by the North German Lloyd line vessel Union.
