x Mauritius 1885 handpainted essay of the 16c. issued design with blank value tablet, in chestnut with "mauritius postage" in Chinese white, with "16 cents" value tablet handpainted below, executed on tracing paper (19x22 1/2mm.) dated "2 jul. 83" which has a Barbados 1882 perforated proof (thinned) with blank value tablet handstamped "cancelled" attached over upper left side, marked "for colour".
