Five: Sergeant Major C.H. Gunn, Corps of Royal and Electrical Mechanical Engineers 1939-1945 Star; France and Germany Star; Defence and War Medals; Belgium, Croix de Guerre, 1939-1945, with palmes, very fine, mounted for wear, with Croix de Guerre riband, and framed Croix de Guerre bestowal document, named to the recipient and dated 11.3.1946, and a copy of a newspaper cutting relating to the foreign award (5) Estimate £ 80-100 ´For "courage and bravery in the glorious battle which led to the liberation of Belgium," Mr. G.H. Gunn, of 2, Stratford House, Suffolk Square, Cheltenham, has been awarded the Croix de Guerre, 1940, with Palm by the Prince Regent of Belgium. A Company Sergeant Major with 823 Armoured Workshops, R.E.M.E., Mr. Gunn served through the campaign in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He had a spell in the line in the Ardennes, and saw the battles of Falaise, Njimegen, and the Second Army´s attempt to relieve the Airborne at Arnhem.´ (Newspaper cutting included in lot refers).
