Fus.), very fine or better, mounted as originally worn Family Medals: British War Medal (2) (30227 Pte. H. Balson. R. Berks. R.; 30228 Pte. C.J. Balson. R. Berks. R.), good very fine 1914-15 Star (T-3388 Pte. O.H. Collins. The Queen´s R.); British War Medal (1-11991 Pte. A. Claxton. Lanc. R.); Imperial Service Medal, G.VI.R. (Hugh Palmer Clyma); Defence Medal, engraved ´Dr. Rupert Palmer´; War Medal; Defence and War Medals in card box of issue addressed to ´I. Stc. H. Gill Esq.´, with enclosure slip, all generally very fine or better Defective Medals: India General Service 1854-95, one clasp, Bhootan (3451. Corp. C. Knight. 1-6 Foot), renamed in serif capitals; Egypt 1882-89, dated, one clasp, Alexandria 11th July, brooch mounted with retaining pin for wear, nearly very fine or better (13) Estimate £ 70-90 C.J. Balson and H. Balson were brothers, the latter served during the Great War with the 12th Battalion Berkshire Regiment, and died on the Western Front, 6.1.1917, he is buried in Calais Southern Cemetery, France.
